Message	TPS sends 3 signals to the ECU, 2 of which are actually used, 1) Closed/Idle 2) Open 3) WOT (unused). I have a friend who has a bad TPS and it will idle high and erratic as it isn't ever reading the idle state. I think you can play around with tapping the gas to see if it will reset, but you may need a new sensor.
